4 Useful Ideas on How To use Auto Subscription Plugin for Elgg

Do you remember my previous post about the 10 best Elgg plugins? Well.. if you didn’t read it, I think it would be a good idea to start reading it now to know more about useful Elgg plugins, and then continue reading this post to know why it’s useful for you and your community members to use the Auto subscription plugin.

Auto subscription plugin give you the option to determine one or more of you community groups to be the default group or groups that all new members will be a part of when they sign-up an account on the community.

Lets go through it now and let me tell you how exactly I am using Auto subscription plugin on My Life Thinking community. It can be a great idea if you are thinking to have a help or news group or just a default group that will show on members profiles and make your community member visited those groups trying to discover it.

Let me tell you about 4 ideas to make using Auto subscription plugin a good thing to do:

  1. Give a meaning to members profiles and an open door they can pass through.
  2. Create a place where all members can meet each other like a general discussion group.
  3. It can be used to subscribe all members to a new group, where community editors can post general news, updates, or community events, also creating a special news blog for the community news would be a nice idea in this point.
  4. Another use of this group when you think about support group or a help group where you can provide help and support to special group of members, or a all your members. (check the example).

After you read those ideas above, I would like to ask you to post about any ideas that could make a useful use of this plugin to post them on comments.
