I wrote a very nice Popup Domination Tutorial that explains the steps of installing HTML Popup Domination on any HTML web page step by step,  this is very useful when you build a landing page, or a sales page for your product, you will be able to get the popup form ready and up in a few minutes, connect it with your email list service, and start getting more opt-in right away.

I am using Aweber service to build email list, and I am doing quite fine with it, it gives me all features I need, and yes it’s a paid service, but it’s super cool when you buy something it pays itself, yes.. I assume that some of us had participated on a few contests from all these contests running online on lots of blogs these days, one of the most reasons for contest organizers is to promote their blogs or (service and products), but after all it’s about gaining more traffic and new visitors!

Depending on contest types, Contest Organizers trying all the time to find the best voting system for their contests, there is some good WordPress plugins that do the job, and also a few websites that offers you different voting systems with different options and layouts, probably you will find what you need or you can try to customize your voting system some how to fit your contest needs.

I want to ask you for your opinion about this voting issue, by your experience or just by logic..

All of us knows that WP-polls plugin is a very good plugin for creating polls on WordPress blogs,  but maybe people don’t know that you can add thumbnails and links to polls. So.. Today’s Trick is about how to enhance your poll and make it looks cool, specially if you are running a poll for a design contest, or a best blog contest.

Ching Ya of Social @ Blogging Tracker asked me about which plugin I am using to run Famous Bloggers Club contest as it’s limiting the votes to only one vote per person! so I am going to explain it and tell you also the trick I am using to add a thumbnail and a link to the participants blogs!

I have to say that I was inspired by Keller who runs the Best WordPress Design Contest of 2009, and oh.. By the way.. It’s a good chance to you to VOTE for new media bloggers blog if you think it has a good design that you really like!

OK! If you are looking for the best way to create a poll that prevent people from voting more than once on the poll then try out WP-polls plugin for WordPress, and following this simple trick will let you easily add thumbnails links to the poll items which will make it so easy for people to vote!

How to add Thumbnails and Links to WP-polls?

You can add any image you want simply by HTML to show the image or the link instead of using text, as some people will think that they are limited to add text only on the poll fields, but this is not true, you can add what ever HTML code you like, but don’t miss with that too much, just try to keep it simple and clean!

Today I have upgraded my blog to WordPress 2.8 the new version, I simply did that by clicking on the upgrade automatically button on the top of my WP control panel, this is a great thing because I remember the headaches that I had before when I was trying to upgrade my blogs, but now it’s a very easy thing, and everything went good with no problem in the upgrade process.

I have also updated CommentLuv plugin with no problems. But the real exciting thing is the Twitter Tools plugin that Liam Alexander told me about it, it’s a great plugin for sure. Twitter Tools plugin posts my tweets automatically every week as a new post on my blog, so don’t forget to follow me now @hishaman on Twitter so maybe you can get a link on my coming weekly tweeting posts.

I am going to ask you about which day do you think is the best day for posting my weekly tweets? Plz tell me what you think!

Here we are, I am back to you with a new Elgg 1.5 community, I named it New Media Bloggers, it’s a Social Network for Making Money Online bookmarks built on the contributions of its users. Thinking about New Media Bloggers I am serious about creating a fun, safe, rewarding, and effective Social Network Bookmarks for Making Money Online.

New Media Bloggers Elgg plugins

I have added and tested some Elgg plugin that I thought it’s good to run them on the project, and I had to modify some of them to fit my requirements, specially positioning the ads, because I wanted to make sure  that I can track my ads on several parts and make it easy for me to know which section exactly is more active than other section on the social network.

New Media Bloggers theme_NMBloggers for Elgg 1.5

Also you will notice that New Media Bloggers have a unique theme, I have used the theme_elgg_example and did some modification to it, also added Google Adsense positions on the theme. It’s not ready yet to give back to the Elgg community, but I will be sure in the feature to make it available for download after cleaning the code as I am planning to create more themes for Elgg 1.5 depending on the Elgg theme example.

I was not expecting that comments on my blog will highly increase like crazy when I first used CommentLuv plugin on my blog, but the results was more than great, I still have lots of comments that I haven’t reply to them yet, I just can not find time enough to reply to all comments, but I will do it for sure as I appreciate this too much.


So.. regarding to the comments I got on one of my recent posts about how to double links back by commenting on CommentLuv blogs, I am thinking to create my own fresh list of blogs that running CommentLuv and share it with everybody, of course you can add your blog to it,

Why you should do the same?

It happened to me lots when I like a blog and want to get back to it, but I forgot the name or I didn’t save it in my favorites. I visit lots of blog everyday, so there is no better idea than publish them in a special posts, so.. whenever I want to get back to those blogs all what I have to do is check this post.

I wrote before when I got my blog “MyLifeThinking.com” down, I didn’t know what happened in the beginning, but after submitting more than 4 tickets to the support team at GoDaddy and losing my blog for 2 days I finally understand!


They say my database is causing the shared resources to be over-utilized. This, in turn, affects the usage by other customers, and there is some query that I have to change in WordPress StatPress plugin, it was the cause of the problem, I think because I didn’t set StatPress to delete older data from the database, so the file got so big, so they had to disable my database!

But.. How Godaddy disabled my database with out inform me first?

I was thinking about that, and say to my self this is not good at all, if I am going to expect that GoDaddy will turn my blog off each time a plugin cause a problem, this will be a nightmare.

Anyways.. after debating lots about how to fix my problem, I got sick of waiting for their reply day after day and wasting my time, so decided to create another database from my panel, and restore MyLifeThinking.com database backup to it. I consider my self so lucky because I got this backup file just one week before they cut the database!

How I did it?

You may ask yourself how I could build the tables and the structure of the new created database, well.. let me explain to you how I did it, at the beginning I was not sure how to do it, so I remember that I can use the applications on GoDaddy to create a new installation for WordPress, so I did it and created a new blog on a sub folder, then I changed the database information on the config.php file, and then the last step was importing the data to the new database.

In this process I lost one post and a few comments, I know that I can wait more time to get my blog online again, so I preferred to get it now!

Why I will live under GoDaddy merci?

Some times I can not see any reason for using Godaddy hosting service, I think that most successful blogers use other website hosting for their blogs instead of GoDaddy!

I am thinking to move to another web hosting, or at least try anew one, so plz give me some good suggestions! I will appreciate if you do!

I have recently activated CommentLuv on my blogs, It makes it very easy for commenters to get a link back to their blogs, and this increased my post comments so far. I got some other benefits rather than comments, I think this will shift my blog for a wider range of readers, and tis means also Traffic and much more Traffic.

Who dosen’t like the CommentLuv plugin?

I don’t know anyone yet! If you don’t like it then tell me why?

The thing that I like so much about this plugin, is that you can get more traffic by commenting on other blogs, it works pretty well specially if your posts have a catchy titles. So.. it’s making the time I spend on commenting on other blogs much more profitable time. Getting Traffic is not a hard time now.. it could be also fun!

I have to mention here Brian and his blog the ExtremeEzine.com, who gave me the motivation to use the CommentLuv plugin when I read his blog. It’s a good idea to visit his blog.

I have told you why I like CommentLuv, so tell me why you like it?

I have notice that I can add 2 different links when commenting on blogs that running  CommenLuv plugin, it’s a simple trick and works. By doing this trick you will get a link back to one of your posts, and you can add a different link to your name on the comment.

Lets say you have 2 blogs, one of them is your personal blog, and the other one – for example – is your Biz blog . If you want to link to both of them and comment only once you can do this simple trick.

How to do it?

I have notice that CommentLuv plugin start to collect your recent posts when you put your course into the comment input box to write the comment, lets say you commented already and fills all comment form fields like the name and your blog URL, now you can change the URL to another one and click on the submit button quickly after changing the URL, probably the best way is to copy your URL and past it to the field so you can reach the submit button faster.

Do it and see the result by your self on your comment, What do you see?

You should see a link back to your recent blog post, plus a link to your personal blog to the name you have used for the comment.
