I found a way with Thesis. The old comments use abbr class and the new updated one uses cluv class.
Use #comments abbr {put your styling in here}

ComLuv is a cool plugin as long as you don’t get too many off topic comments and spam from it. I will into it a little more to see if it’s worth it.
I am just beginning investigating. Seems this could be a great tool for my marketing.
