Ive never managed to get the auto updatw working until today, its been a real pain but I have just changed to an alternative host. I am not the most technical person in the world but I have had the last host look at this on a number of occasions and assure me it was nothing at their end and I would always need to update manually. On the new host it just works. If you are struggling to get the auto update to run I would definitly say have a word with your host.

In response I do get sick of installing the same plugins on every install, its two years later and there has still not really been anything done to address the issue! The flip side is that my demands for every single install will just be un-needed bloat to other people.

I think they should include some core plugins with their download and yes the sitemap generating tool should be a standard. There are about 4 or 5 plugins that I use on every install and it would be nice to see them already in the initial package. The other one that I like to use is the analytics plugin that makes it easy to change themes and keep the same analytics code. Also, I'd like to see some sort of better thunbnail option for posts and have been using several plugins that work fine, but it would be nice to have a default. .-= Fred Cash´s last blog ..Same Day Payday Loans When You Need Cash Today =-.

I've updated all my blogs after running the upgrade on my test site. Everything worked fine and I'm really happy with the new version, especially as it now shows all the comments to the relative posts when in editing mode. .-= Sire´s last blog ..Why You Should Upgrade To WordPress 2.8 =-.

Thanks a lot for the mention, glad you’re enjoying twitter tools. I think it’s a really great plugin too. I’ve been editing mine with a read more link and an image to keep my front page clean. It would be nice if you could do thi automatically too; perhaps I’ll suggest it to the developer.

P.S. Thanks for the link on Alexander but at present it links to a ‘find insurance agents in your zip code named alexander’ page. I don’t sell insurance!

I’m waiting for a suitable time to upgrade because I have to settle some tasks first. Hope everything’s clear while upgrading.

I have two options for weekly tweets – Monday & Saturday.

Monday is the 1st day in working days while Saturday is weekend and at both days most people are facing their PCs =D

I commented on another post how to style your CommentLuv last post. I have upgraded and love the new WP 2.8.

I have set my weekly tweets to be created on a Monday. It seems to work for me.
