How to Generate Content and Ideas for your Blog from your own Tweets by Twitter Tools?

by on August 1, 2009

Are you tired of daily Blogging? and you don’t find enough time for posting everyday? Don’t stress your self, you really don’t need to post everyday -this is what I think- you just need a least to blog once a week to keep your readers visiting your blog.

On this post, I am going to tell you how I managed to post at least one post every week, and what was the way I followed to generated ideas for my posts just by following my weekly tweets. I feel that I have succeeded on that some how. So let me explain to you. Special thanks to Extreme John who inspired me by his valuable comments on my blog.

Now I have a better idea: combine both Zebida Weekly Tweets with Zebida Fridays posts together!

First of all I am running Twitter Tools plugin for WP on my blog, by this way I automatically gets one post published every week, it contain all my tweets on the last week before the post is published. But the post was looking ugly and filled of unwanted links, take a look to one of my older weekly tweets posts and compare it with the last one when I decided to transform it to something more exciting and clean at the same time.

Automatic Posts generated by Twitter Tools plugin should be edited since it’s published on the blog, I add a thumbnail image, change title, add the –more- tag, category editing and add a short discretion and my Twitter account @hishaman link before the tweet links, I was editing this post when ever it’s published but I was not making it beautiful. So I decided to change all of that and end the mess, I am seeking to combine both Zebida Weekly Tweets with Zebida Fridays posts together.

Basically what I did to the Twitter Tools post is some editorial work to make it better,  and this is not all, but there will be more enhancements in the feature to make it one of those ideal useful series of posts. So follow me Twitter @hishaman and connect with me, maybe I will let your link a live or my coming posts :)

Hey Heshman, What happened to your theme? It’s showing the default(classic) WP theme r8 now. Any database loss?

You are getting post from twitter?

I think that it is like copying. WE all know that Google punishes those who doesn’t original content.

Hi Hesham – nice idea although I don’t really get it. I just connect my blog to twitterfeed.com and via RSS, it publishes my blog post to twitter.

Good Luck

Yes @Lena, but what I am doing here is the opposite way, it’s to post on your blog a new post every week for example and it contain links from your tweets! and this by using Twitter Tools plugin for Wordpress, Got it?

I just started using Twitter Tools about two weeks ago and love it. It’s a great plugin that has lots of options for making tweets into posts, and vice-versa. I’m also using a Twitter tool called ‘Tweet This’ which is great for setting up social tools. I’ve been going through and looking at a bunch of Twitter tools, but the one called ‘Twitter Tools’ that is mentioned here is one of the best I’ve seen so far.

I like the changes you’ve made! This is a very clever way to use Twitter tools. I have to admit I didn’t really read your previous “Weekly tweets” posts, I just skimmed them. But now they are so much more inviting! Good job.

@lance, Good question, but I don’t think so because I edit the post and link directly to links from my tweets! Check my latest post!

If any one can tell more about this plz don’t hesitate!

For keeping my followers up to date with some hot topics I generally use http://stufftotweet.com/ that pulls all the hot topics from digg, delicious, CNN etc. These topics would also be good ideas to post to your blog.

Personally I’m not to fond about reading old Tweets on blogs, depending on what you are Tweeting about. Most of the times people just write about things that are interesting right now but not interesting a week later.

I think effort to be time smart is beneficial. Your attempts at out-of-box thinking be duly appreciated.
However it would be kinda interesting challenge to keep the content & relevant by once a week work, according to my experience.
