Here we are, I am back to you with a new Elgg 1.5 community, I named it New Media Bloggers, it’s a Social Network for Making Money Online bookmarks built on the contributions of its users. Thinking about New Media Bloggers I am serious about creating a fun, safe, rewarding, and effective Social Network Bookmarks for Making Money Online.
New Media Bloggers Elgg plugins
I have added and tested some Elgg plugin that I thought it’s good to run them on the project, and I had to modify some of them to fit my requirements, specially positioning the ads, because I wanted to make sure that I can track my ads on several parts and make it easy for me to know which section exactly is more active than other section on the social network.
New Media Bloggers theme_NMBloggers for Elgg 1.5
Also you will notice that New Media Bloggers have a unique theme, I have used the theme_elgg_example and did some modification to it, also added Google Adsense positions on the theme. It’s not ready yet to give back to the Elgg community, but I will be sure in the feature to make it available for download after cleaning the code as I am planning to create more themes for Elgg 1.5 depending on the Elgg theme example.

I think you have forgotten to add the Output field in your comments.php file for the plugin. You just added the Input field for Twitter profile.)

I’ve been using elgg for about two years now and was really impressed with their last version. Now it looks like they’ve added so much more and the look is really clean. I’m going to download the new version and install it on my site that I was running the old elgg on. How hard was the setup for you? I remember it was a little tricky getting the old version to work and I’m wondering if you ran into a trouble getting the new version live.

@Fred Cash, It was not that hard, but only the customization toke and still taking lots of time, it’s not easy to manage a community!
If you are going to upgrade your Elgg old installation be sure to upgrade your theme or it will not look exactly the way you want.
by the way, my hosting with Godaddy have an automatic upgrade so this is how I don’t waist time or have problems upgrading! but I don’t recommend Godaddy share hosting for Elgg as it’s really slow!, Good luck!
