What Is Your Blog Story?

by on February 10, 2009

Today I was remembering the first domain I ever had in my life, it doesn’t exist anymore, but there is a very interesting story happened more than 5 years back when I connected to the internet for the first time, and I became a web designer!
I meet that nice girl online, and we was chatting about several things, then we came cross internet and domain names and websites and all this kind of stuff, and I told her that I wish to have my own domain name, and create a website and maybe I can make money from it.

She really surprised me when she asked me what domain name you want? Because she said it’s easy to have it, and she will give it to me as a gift. Oh.. I was flying that day!

And Yes.. I told her about the domain name and she brought it for me. When ever I remember this time I thank her for been such a great help to me, she helped me to start a new biz when she brought me that domain,  she open several new doors for me that time, actually she made my heart beet for her, I loved her that much that I got married to her :)

That was the story behind me and my relation with the internet, and how I started my online biz for the first time when I went to study web design, and I could make a full static website in about 6 months latter, and again I went to study website development, but the lake of education in that part of the world where I live limited my skills some how, but I was never into desperate because I have a great woman pushing me all the time forward, I spend so many hours studying and learning about how to make websites, and my biz got better as I am serving a number of clients right now.

It was a new life for me, a new beginning, new way of thinking about this life, that’s why I named my blog My Life Thinking, and started to run a community on it for all bloggers who think they can write about life.

I moved along from one idea to another, trying to catch the amazing grow process of the internet, to keep my biz up. I started to earn a few dollars now from my blogs, and I am planning to grow this biz more as I really like the challenges and have fun doing it.

I came cross blogs and CMS, I can say that I love Open Source projects, because this is the only way I can grow up much faster. I started to blog about 2 years back on wordpress.com, then I moved my blog to my own domain more than one year back, and after some hard work I got the rank of 4 on Google now!

That was a short story about me, my love, and my blog!

Now It’s your turn to tell me about your blog story behind your blog. Who showed you the way to the bloggers world? What is your blog name? Post a comment and tell all about it.

After years of living on my own, I started to realize that my life was getting really monotonous. Things were the same day after day. Get up, go to work, come home, and make something for dinner. It was pretty bad. I had become a robot.

How bad was it? Well, let’s just put it this way, one of the cashiers at the grocery store where I shopped noticed that I would get the same exact things every week. I couldn’t believe it. I was really in a rut. No wonder it seemed like I was living in the movie “Groundhog Day”.

It was at that point that I decided things were going to change. In order to make that change a reality, I would need ideas. I would need recipes and lots of them. The problem was I didn’t have any. Naturally one would think to look in a cookbook. Problem was, I didn’t own any. So, I started watching some of the many cooking shows that are now on TV. Food Network was on constantly. I picked up many great ideas, but I was always too slow to jot down the recipes. Now what do I do?

Then it hit me! Fire up the computer, jump on the internet, and search for those recipes. I was amazed there was so much information out there. Cooking websites and food blogs galore. I could probably cook a different thing for every meal for at least a year. There were no words that could describe how I felt.

I started cooking new things every day using recipes found on the internet. It was great, I finally felt alive. Soon, I started cooking too much food for me to eat. Since I did not want the food to go to waste, I decided to start sharing some of what I had made with friends and family. They absolutely loved it!

I would often get asked, “How did you make that?” or “Where did you get that idea or recipe?”. So, I started send emails to friends with links to what I had made. This got to take up a lot of my time so I started looking for a way to share the recipes I had found or were shared with me.

That is where the idea for “The Crazy Kitchen” originated

Hi! My name is Shannon Windnagle and I have 2 blogs. The first is called Work From Home Mom.It’s all about different programs for anyone who is interested in staying home and making an income online. The second is called Marketing Your Online Business. This pertains to How To’s. I’m still new at this and have been kind of trying different things to see what works. Obviously I do not have an original domain name or anything but along time ago when I first started working online the first domain name I came up with was Little Treasures./ I named my company this name because it made me think of my children. They are so special to me that they were like little treasures. Hence the name Little Treasures.

Why did I start a blog? Mostly to share pictures and ideas as a hobby. I want to make people laugh, cry, and think (but not in equal amounts) I believe the comfortable people of the West will need to share time and resources with the vast numbers who are still suffering poverty or near poverty (not me – I asked for it, threw away my opportunities, and now get a pension from a still great country) Untapped resources still exist, but who thinks they have the TIME to work directly for UNKNOWN others? Many good people choose a charity or two and send a cheque. But hear the others scream now that their living standards are being threatened (by whatever causes). That’s partly why I have a blog, even if Dr Awsom just thinks he’s just too good for ‘Ordinary People’ to miss. Arrogant altruist that he is.
